A man has been charged with drug and weapons offences after police raided his home at Greystanes in western Sydney yesterday.

Acting on a tipoff from the public, officers from the Holroyd Local Area Command executed a search warrant on the Daisy Street home and allegedly seized a quantity of cannabis, a crossbow and some ammunition.

The 36 year old Greystanes man was arrested by police outside the house and later charged at Merrylands Police Station with common assault, possessing a prohibited weapon and possessing a prohibited drug.

He has been granted bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court on April 17.
