A man has finally been arrested over the robbery of the ANZ Bank in the West Australian town of Rockingham in 1998.

A 33 year old man from Waikiki was charged late yesterday with robbery after "extensive investigations" into the hold-up.

Police allege the man walked into the ANZ Bank at Rockingham City Shopping Centre on June 4, 1998 and demanded money from the woman behind the counter. He told the teller he had a gun, and eventually escaped with an amount of cash.
