The female driver of a car that allegedly struck two boys on the Gold Coast yesterday will appear in court this morning.

The 35 year old woman has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and is scheduled to face Southport Magistrates Court.

Police allege she was behind the wheel of a car that mounted the kerb and struck two boys who were walking along Kumbari Avenue in Labrador at around 11.30 yesterday morning.

One of the boys died at the scene, while the other 15 year old remains in a critical condition in Gold Coast Hospital.
