A woman has faced an ACT court over an alleged burglary in the Canberra suburb of Forrest earlier this week - but police are still searching for her male accomplice.
The 20 year old appeared before the ACT Magistrates Court yesterday charged with one count of aggravated burglary and theft.
She was arrested after allegedly being caught red-handed by the owners of a house trying to flee after breaking in on February 5.
The court was told the couple arrived home shortly after 12pm to find a maroon-coloured Subaru sedan parked in the driveway. They allegedly saw a man leave the house and drive off in the car.
The couple then noticed a woman trying to flee the house with a black-coloured bag containing property which the couple believed belonged to them, the court heard.
The couple held the woman and called the police.
Officers who searched the bag allegedly found jewellery, a digital camera, mobile phone, cash and two MP3 players which had been stolen from the Forrest house.
Police are continuing to investigate the identity of the man who fled the scene.
