Applications close today for new members to join the Greater Southern Area Health Service advisory council.
Four positions are available on the council, which keeps the health service up to date with the concerns the community has about their health care needs. Two are reserved for community members, and the other two for clinicians.
The committee's chairman Dr Ian Stewart said the vacancies have arisen because the members have either finished their terms or moved interstate.
The advisory council was established in 2005 after eight new area health services were introduced across New South Wales, merging the Greater Murray Health Service - covering the Murrumbidgee, Murray and Riverina areas - with the Southern Area Health Service, which served the southern tablelands and south coast.
